BECOME AN EDITOR
Students of Berkhamsted School can apply for the positions of Editor in Chief, Deputy Editor in Chief, or a section editor for any of our categories. If you have an idea for a new category (food, technology, etc.), then include this in your letter of application. The position looks great on your UCAS application, and is good experience for anyone looking to go into journalism.
Christina, our 2014-15 Editor-in-Chief, shares some ideas on what you should include in your letter of application in the video above, but it should include your details, any relevant experience or details, why you are passionate about the position you are applying for - and how you think you can advance the category if you are chosen.
Applications for this years editors have now closed. You can see the new editors here. If you'll be in Year 11 or 12 as of September 2015, you can apply to be an editor for the 2016-17 year in early 2016. People applying for Editor-in-Chief must be in Year 12 at time of application. An announcement will be made in assembly when applications open.
In the mean time, writing for INK will increase your chances of becoming an editor - see how you can contribute on the right.
BECOME A WRITER
We're always looking for people to contribute articles to our upcoming issues, and there are two ways you can be one of them.
1) Join the INK Students Magazine co-curricular club on Wednesdays. We have quite a high demand, so be sure to put a good reason to justify your place in INK!
2) If you can't join us on Wednesdays but still want to contribute to INK - no problem! Email the relevant section editor or Editor In Chief (see the bottom of the INK homepage) to find out when the next deadline is, and add your article to our list. If you're interested in other jobs at INK, you can email Ms. Ireland, who will advise you on the next steps to take.
As INK is a multimedia magazine, we have multiple positions available outside of writing. These include:
- Brand Design
- Video Editors
- Managing Copyrights
If you have any ideas for different ways INK can produce content and how you can get involved, email us with your ideas! Email the Editor-in-Chief or Ms. Ireland to check availability or discuss ideas.
